JaZzArt en València, Phase II, the “Blue Period” #2

JazzArt en València, All Rights Reserved)

This is the continuation of the JaZzArt en València, this one is in colour and I call it Phase II. This phase, since it is in colour, I have separated it by periods. I began with the Yellow Period, then the Green, and now the Blue Period. I have been researching the series since before I started it in July (2021) and decided to use watercolour as the abstract background for the Jazz Musicians that form the composition. Therefore this is a series composed as figurative art, but with an abstract background. As you know, art is not an intuitive endeavour. Art requires thought, precision, research and much trial and error, then, after you have gone through these stages you can pretty much be sure that your work is done…

Art is something amazing that only humans can do. It is almost magical, it is a way to see, to express and to communicate ideas that no other living creature in our Earth can accomplish. Art is the result of human creativity. It is available to all humans. It is not something that some are born with, if that was the case it would be a genetic defect, but it is not, it is an acquired trait. However, it is not intuitive. It must be learned. The rules of art are as valid as the rules that govern physics, science and all the other arts and it must be learned, it must be worked through, continuously and rigorously.

I hope you like this series and if you did, please let me know.

No sé, no sé si eso del arte es un rasgo adquirido. Yo soy incapaz de hacer una línea recta, debe de ser por eso que admiro tanto a los artistas plásticos. Buena semana.

    • Francisco Bravo Cabrera · September 20

Indeed, Francisco. Art making is magic-making, and I very much love your new series of paintings – colour influences how I feel, and your paintings seem to create a relaxing feeling. It’s very clear that you understand the psychology of colour when choosing paint colour palettes. Thanks for sharing and have a good week ahead 🙂 Aiva xx

Thank you so much Aiva, your kind words are always appreciated greatly. Yes, colour is very important, visually, meaning aesthetically as well as psychologically and since I am making the background for my figures an abstract, I am using colour to it’s greatest advantage. I am so glad you liked it. All the best!
