FREEDOM FOR CUBA!

(Communist repressive forces violating the people of Cuba)

I really think the people of Cuba have awoken from a long and hypnotic dream. Finally the streets are full of people, defying the communist repressive forces and declaring themselves free from fear. The crisis, both health related and food related (being that there is no health care and no food for the people) have finally driven the masses out to try to topple the dictatorship that has enslaved the island for over 60 years.

Let’s see how the world reacts…

Will the US support the “uprising”? I certainly hope so. After all the US has been a good friend to anti-communist Cubans, and those, forming what was known in Miami, Florida as the “Exile Community”, have been very good for the US. They built the city of Miami and have turned it into a very successful international and cosmopolitan city. When they arrived there it was a sleepy, lazy southern town. The US has also allowed Cubans to enter the US freely and with preferential treatment to other nationalities, granting them asylum, residency and nationality along with economical, social and medical support. So there is a good chance that the Biden Administration will place themselves on the right side of history and assist the Cuban people in attaining their freedom and not do what JFK did which was to pull out and leave the Cubans on their own, especially after he had sent them, as an Army unit, to fight Castro back in 1961…

Will Spain support the Cuban people? I’ve not heard anything from Pedro Sanchez or the Moncloa. Spain should be the first country to support the people of Cuba. Spain is the Mother Country of Cuba and Cuba was, after all, a province of the Kingdom. However, Spain (meaning the government and the monarchy) was a bad mother that abused, mistreated and maligned her children and her children, revolted and defeated her back in 1902. Curiously, her children still love their mother country, even though Spain does not even grant them citizenship like France does to her prior colonies…

So I do not know who will support and who will simply ignore. What I do know is that there is always support when people fight against a right wing dictatorship and apathy when they fight a left wing one. There are many communists here in Europe that have never lived, nay, never set foot on a communist country. It’s very easy to be a communist in a capitalist, industrialist and free society.

FREEDOM FOR THE CUBAN PEOPLE should be the cry of all who love freedom all around the world!

AN ARTIST HAS TO BE INVOLVED IN THE HISTORY THAT IS BEING MADE AND HISTORY IS BEING MADE IN CUBA AND NO ONE CAN CHANGE THE COURSE OF HISTORY

Francisco, you bring up several excellent points. I do not know what the US will do and I thoroughly agree with your point that it is easy to be a fascist, socialist, or even a communist when you live in a country that does not require the sacrifices that at least the fascist and communist countries require of its citizens.
