Live like you would die tomorrow, learn like you would live forever! (Gandhi) All artwork, music and photography is of my creation and all are originals if not otherwise stated.
I do think he was a good artist. His paintings are well painted and his portraits are very intuitive, although he was also trying to make them larger than life and heroic. I try to bring forth to the series all types of artists, and this one I do rather think of as a good one. I’ve brought forth others who I’ve no use for like Dali, Miro, Yoko Ono and Frida Kahlo…but they are in art history and must be looked at objectively. Hope you’re enjoying your Sunday Malc, as it is, it is a rainy grey day here in Valencia, one of the rare days without sunshine, and yesterday was quite lovely, temp went up to 25!
All the best to you,
FBC.
Thanks for the explanation F. It’s wall to wall sunshine here today, which for a Bank Holiday weekend is not necessarily a good thing under the present circumstances.

Malc
A gifted artist without a doubt. Tons of technique here, but it is his selection of palette for the pieces reflecting the revolution and civil war that show how color choices can set the entire tone for a piece. His portraitures are rather good also. Stay well, my friend!
Yes, I would say that he is very technically sound and very good at his craft. But I think he was also a great artist in the sense that although his paintings look like propaganda posters for the Red Army, that was what he was aiming for, the elaboration of Socialist Realism, which undermines the poetry and focuses on the harsh reality. I like his work, it speaks the poetry of the unpolished, raw, everyday existence as a member of the proletariat. Thank you Brad, and all the best,
FBC.
Lottle note: Brodsky is not Ukrainian. He is Russian. He was born in 1940 in St Petersburg USSR and died in USA. So he is Russian-American poet and essayist. 🙂
Thank you Angela but this artist is not the same person that you have mentioned. If you noticed I noted his place of birth and death and the year. I appreciate your interest.

How did you find that Brodsky?😀 My apologies. I read your post on the phone and must missed the dates. Most of people know Brodsky what I mentioned. Feel ashamed and probably whole internet throw rotten tomatoes at me right now 🤣. I guess i will do deeper research and today will be Brodsky day. So curious now. Thank you for your posts!
It’s nothing, no problem. My good friends, who are Ukrainians also said like you. So I do thank you for your time and your participation. All the best,
FBC
For one, I am not surprised. While you may offer your opinion in almost every case, good or bad, you are about the art, the process, the artists, and the value art brings. Disliking an artist’s views, method, style, and motivation, you note without fail or judgement the value they have brought to the table, open to individual interpretation. Indeed, you counsel your audience to look further and render their own opinions. As ever, FBC, impeccable. Here, I admire the artist, his dedication to belief, and having succumbed to thought-training myself, his conviction. Well done!
You’ve surprised me by including this artist Francesc, but whatever you think of the artist’s content you obviously admire his talent – or do you?
