Miami Beach…in the Winter

(Pelican over the Atlantic Ocean, photo property of FBC, All Rights Reserved)

Miami Beach is an island on the other side of Biscayne Bay from the City of Miami…it is a barrier island with approximately 90.000 residents. Of course, during the high tourist season the number of people in Miami Beach rises to a couple of million, at least…

There is no such thing as a winter in South Florida…

Ahh in my days it was just a dreary old folks old hotels place driving on the AIA Collins ave!!! it came a long way and then started to overexpend and now is trying to define itself again. Although a lot better than in the early 70’s.

Much better than those days. Now it’s turned into a ritzy glam town where a glass of wine is $15!

Miami beach in winter looks better and sunnier than any Irish beaches in summer, minus the crowds. Thanks for sharing such beautiful photos, do you go back often? Aiva 😊

Yes, there really is no such season as winter in Miami…the median temperature for December/January is about 30/35 and if it drops to 15/10 it’s only for one day or a few hours…in the summer it’s 40! No, I haven’t been back for one year now and no plans to return…thanks Aiva, it’s always a pleasure, your visits, take good care and have a lovely Irish ☘️ weekend! 😊

Now as in daily contact the temp is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit last tonight, with wind chill values reaching the mid 20s!!! Miami is changing weather wise too lol!!!

It is odd but I remember many nights in Miami being like that in years past, even to 32 Fahrenheit…but it does not last, that is the magic of Miami weather, that it is tropical weather and to predict tropical weather you need to be a psychic not a meteorologist! All the best, my friend,
      un abrazo,

Yes it does, once you go north from Orlando the weather changes completely but in South Florida, the weather is mostly eternal summer…but climate change has created a mess with the weather world-wide…
All the best to you my friend, and greetings from Spain
