When We Was Fab…no, not really, just AJA…

AJA stands for the “Abstract Jazz Arrangement”. It was an idea I had way back in 2002. I wanted to make a “band” that would not have permanent members, that it would be made with players that would come together for a project and then leave and make room for more…

So, at first, I went for a “world beat” type of sound, of course, integrating the elements of “jazz” within the structure of the songs. I got together with a very good percussionist and a bass player I had met in Miami…

This is “YaYa” recorded back in 1999 in North Miami, Florida. Later I decided to create a small video clip with photos and with my artwork, reflecting the spirit of New Orleans. We did three songs, which you can get a taste of at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/aja2 The CD with three songs was released in 2012…
